Roleplay
Roleplaying games might not actually be the thing of the devil that lead all children into satanism, but they should actually be encouraged to play RPGs.

This has still got to be the best joke on the web concerning satanism and RPGs.

Starballz
So the Media Market Group made a porn flick based on Star Wars and they're actually going to sue the father of Star Wars George Lucas because he isn't too happy about it. Only in America...

Jeremiah
There's a new show out by J. Michael Straczynski called Jeremiah. I'm a HUGE fan of Babylon 5, another creation of his, which is the only reason why I'd like to see this new show. I don't know about the actors, but if the story arc and writing is anything like on Babylon 5 it could prove to be a good show.

Lord of the Blog
The British French & Saunders show have made excellent spoofs of the Lord of the Rings movie. A hefty 80MB capture of one of them can be found here.

Found another LOTR themed comic as well. The drawing quality isn't as good as the others, but for a fan of LOTR they are hilarious reading.

Formula 1
Ever since Mika Häkkinen started to do well in the Formula 1 races, Finns have really gone crazy with their racecar mania. There are races every two weeks now, on the weekend. In the time between the races the tabloids are filled with stories on what toothpaste Kimi Räikkönen's girlfriend likes to use or what Mika Salo thinks about world peace.

On Thursdays the race things start to get out of hand completely. The news are filled with interviews on how our boys think they will do. On Friday they show the practice runs on TV, all of them with commentaries in the studio and all. On Saturday they show the qualifying race on TV, again the entire show with commentary and the whole works. Then finally on Sunday it's the real race.

So for three days the Finns are glued to the TV to see how our brave drivers will do in Formula 1 races. What kind of a name is Formula 1 anyways? Reminds me of some milk baby formula or something infinitely much worse.

Long Friday
The most anticipated part of Easter is always the four day weekend. Today is off, because it's the day that Jesus guy died on the cross and Monday is off, because that's when he rose from the dead. I've never celebrated Easter that much. I've never heard of any easter egg hunts organized for the children or things like that. We tend to take our religious holidays seriously. But apparently that's just me, because according to the Virtual Finland site, there's all kinds of Easter traditions that I've never even heard of. One thing I do know of is Mämmi, which seems to be translated into 'oven-baked malt porridge'. The picture perhaps explains it far better than I ever could. Yeah, it tastes just like it looks like too. But hey, it's tradition, gotta eat it at least once a year. Mine usually comes with an inch of sugar on top.

The best part of Easter for me are the Mignon easter eggs. They take an actual, used eggshell with a hole in the bottom, fill it to the brim with chocolate and put in a sugary plug. To eat it you break it and peel off the shell like with any boiled egg. The chocolate is the best I've ever had, but I think my view might be influenced by the fact that you can only get this treat during Easter. For about a week, I eat around four of them a day and so by the time Easter's over, I'm completely sick of the eggs too, enough to last me all the way until next Easter.

Trust vs. Jealousy
I happened to turn the TV on just when there was some really stupid comedy-drama show on. I have no idea what it's called. Honest. The wife was going out with another man and the husband said he's perfectly fine with it, because he trusts her completely. Of course the wife got upset, because it made it seem like he really didn't care who she was with. Why is "utter and complete trust" such a bad thing? I know if I were in the same situation I'd get upset too if my boyfriend/husband was always like 'Oh I don't care, I trust you'. Trust needs to be the cornerstone of any relationship, but I think there has to be a certain amount of jealousy involved as well. As much as jealousy is a negative feeling, it is also an indication of how much you really care about the other person. Unless you're some nutcase and take it way too far, of course. So how do people find the fine line between trust and jealousy? Be too trusting and it looks like you just don't care. Be too jealous and it looks like you don't trust the other person. Would jealousy be needed at all if love and affection were shown in other ways?

Viggo
The Lord of the Rings website has been properly updated (finally). When using the flash version, you get an introductory message from the actors in the movie. They've just added one for Viggo Mortensen and maybe it's just me, but he sounds really bored. Very much like an "Oh how I wish I wouldn't have to bother" voice. You can hear it also here.

Huzzah!
To start this whole thing off, here's a link to my favorite on-line comic Dork Tower.
I really like the drawing style and the characters. It's a comic about these silly gamers, who are into much the same things that I am. Only downside is that it isn't updated daily.
Other cool, gaming related comics are PvPonline and Real Life.

I'm quite new to the whole online comic phenomenon, having stumbled onto one only a few months ago. These days I check those three daily. I've been trying to find more interesting comics, but I'm not so much into the whole complex, artistic ones or the very realistic ones that attempt to be a searing vision of the wounds our century has inflicted on traditional masculinity. No, I can't write that well, I was shamelessly quoting an excellent movie.

First!
Here goes, number 1! The one where it all began *trumpets flaring*. I think I am slowly getting satisfied with the layout, as simple as it is still. Getting rid of the ad-banner will take longer since I didn't have a paypal account from before.
